Firewall for QuickBooks 2009 versions an issue …

Problem
– When you switch on the hosting and set QuickBooks to be hosted in the Multi-user mode, you get an error (H202), (-6000, -83), or (-6123, 0).

When I first heard about this, I was somewhat surprised that their were still some issues with installing QuickBooks financial on separate machines with only the Windows firewall being in place.
The symptoms are as follows:
– You install QuickBook on 3 different Windows Vista machines.
– You map the drives accordingly.
– You set up the QuickBooks Database Service Manager & point it to the folder holding your QuickBooks company file.
– You are able to each log into QuickBooks separately.
– If you turn off your firewall you can open QuickBooks in Multi-user mode with 2 or more simultaneous users.

Solution: The problem may be the firewall. You need to add the correct ports to the firewall so that QuickBooks can host the file correctly. Follow these steps for Windows Firewall:

1) In your windows control panel, open your firewall settings. (or open the settings within your particular firewall).
2) Click on the exceptions tab.
3) Click on, “Add Port” button.
4) Add the following ports to your firewall:

File Names…………………………………………….Port Number
DBManagerExe.exe………………………………..8019
FileManagement.exe………………………………55333
QBCFMonitorService.exe…………………………55334
QBDBMgrN.exe………………………………………55335
QBLaunch.exe……………………………………….55336
QBServerUtilityMgr.exe…………………………..55337
QBW32.exe………………………………………….56719
