There have been several issues regarding QuickBooks 2013 shutting down intermittently. This fix is for users of Windows XP that are on Service Pack 3 or Internet Explorer 8 on the Vista operating system. I will make no promises, but here is one thing that I have uncovered that might work to fix this issue.
Symptoms: QuickBooks and/or IE randomly quit working.
- Go to Start and Run (for Vista, “Run” is right above the start icon).
- In the command field, type “inetcpl.cpl” This brings up your internet properties window.
- Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the screen.
- Locate the “enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks” checkbox in the security section and make sure it is unchecked.
